Safety and ventilation in a compact package

BBB’s best practice in the ultimate combination of great ventilation and safety is the brand new HaloGuard road helmet construction. After years of testing and fine tuning we have brought great airflow together with head protection on the highest level into a compact design.
The HaloGuard construction is designed as thin as possible, which means we can place it as high as possible within the helmet. Because of this the helmet fits narrow around the head. The result is a good combination of ventilation and aerodynamics
The HaloGuard is a nylon cage construction that is designed in a ring shape around the head of the rider. It is produced as thin as possible without losing the strength of the material. Making it this thin gave the possibility to place the construction high (on the outer side) within the foam of the helmet. And the shape of the Haloguard gave the designers the opportunity to create seventeen huge air vents in the front. While they could close the top of the helmet to make it compact and aerodynamic. All without losing any performance in ventilation.
Through the large frontal air vents the air flows easily in the helmet, where it is pressed through a constriction, which causes a venturi effect. A higher velocity of the air will give the rider a better ventilation and a cooler head.
The design of the helmet fits as narrow as possible around the head of the rider. It looks compact, provides an optimal airflow over the head and gives aerodynamic advantages. The result is a good ventilation on as well low as high speed.
The HaloGuard system provides the rider great safety. The construction is built around the head of the rider in a halo shape and is molded within the foam of the helmet. This will keep the helmet together, also if you crash hard enough to break the foam of the helmet. Therefore the helmet with HaloGuard system is more effective. Hard impact on the head will be captured by the construction and will decrease the impact on the head.
The HaloGuard system is used in the newest helmet from BBB Cycling, The Maestro!
