BBB riders racing in Brazil

22 riders, participating in 26 competitions

This weekend is all about road racing and the time trial in Brazil. Both races will be very tough and demand the most of all the riders.

Big question will be if the riders from the Tour de France have brought their shape over the ocean to South America. And which specialists will be in favour during this brutal one day race in the mountains surrounding the beaches of the Copocabana and Ipanema. Whatever the outcome will be, the riders face an exhausting race with high temperatures and humidity. Who will be able to withstand the competition, the elements and the course?

Besides the road race, a big selection of BBB riders will be active in the track events as well. The riders of Team Great Britain will be represented by Mark Cavendish from Team Dimension Data. And track specialist Theo Bos from The Netherlands will be present as well, trying once more to outshine the competition on his beloved track.

Later on during the event, in the last weekend actually, the off-road riders will be active. They are facing a long time in Brazil and will hopefully enjoy watching some other sports as well. But the main objective will be to battle for the win on the dirt and sand of the jungle. Our riders who will compete in the off-road race are Yana Belomoina, Rudi van Houts and Grant Ferguson from the CST Superior Brentjens MTB Racing Team.

Special paintjob on the helmet and glasses of Rudi van Houts.

Both our handbikers will be racing in Brazil as well. Tim de Vries will be racing in both the road race and time trial, while Jetze Plat will be attending the triathlon as well. And he is the perfect candidate for winning this event, as he is the current World Champion.

For a complete overview of our riders active in Brazil check the schedule below. And have a special eye out for our home racer Murillo Fischer of Team FDJ. He will be attending the road race with a very special Tithon helmet:

We wish all of our riders good luck and most of all, safe racing during this unique event! 22 active BBB riders, participating in 26 competitions:
