Cleats can make or break your ride. Adjusting your cleats is very important and can cause or prevent injuries. But which shoe plates do you need? That depends on the click system you are using, so make sure you coordinate them well. When you buy new cleats, take a good look at the amount of play they have. It is often nice to have some play to prevent knee problems or other pains. Road bikes and mountain bikes use different kinds of click systems and therefore different cleats as well. The most popular systems are Shimano SPD-SL for cyclists and Shimano SPD for MTB.
