Our Mission

We are BBB Cycling and we believe in the benefit of the bike. For your health and for your planet. That’s why we design and develop products that are part of your ride, that are accessible, smart products and made to last, with the least amount of impact. When we can, we help you to repair instead of replace.

We are aware of our position and responsibility as a designer and producer of cycling apparel, tools, parts and accessories. So our corporate social responsibility goes beyond a label or logo. It is an opportunity to work together with employees, resellers and manufacturing and logistic partners to rethink together what we do. Not just once, but every, because it’s a process and part of who we are and how we work.

We're in this together

Besides becoming more sustainable ourselves, we work together with organizations that also care about our planet and people. So we joined forces with BEAT Cycling, who want to become the world's most sustainable pro-continental cycling team. We support Team Amani which actively promotes equality in gravel racing and supports athletes from Eastern Africa to achieve their two-wheeled dreams.

We are proud to be a part of a worldwide cycling community and believe that riding your bike is a good thing. We encourage everyone to check our efforts and to hold us responsible where possible in the future. But also to be a conscious consumer, reflect on your decisions, check labels and ask questions.

Emission reduction via packaging and design

The AirSwitch floorpump is a good example of this way of thinking. First, we want to make a product that will last a lifetime and does not need to be replaced. The pump is aimed at individual users, so we choose materials to fit that usage instead of heavy-duty workshop ones. Each step has consequences. We made the difference by designing a detachable handle and detachable foot, thus creating a 50% smaller packaging volume. Less packaging volume means more efficient transport, which means less CO2 emissions. And we are using recycled cardboard and print with soy ink.

Locally produced bio-based maintenance products

Essential for keeping your bike running smoothly is keeping it clean. Part of our assortment is a line of sustainable, safe, durable and hazard symbol-free maintenance products. They are based on 100% plant-based and biodegradable materials like rapeseed and sugar beet. Packaging is made of 100% recycled PET and the liquids are locally produced in a CO2-neutral production facility. All with an equivalent or better working principle compared to traditional maintenance products based on mineral oil.

Minimal wardrobe, maximal flexibility

Our clothing line up is inspired by the principles of capsule wardrobe. We opt for a smart collection of essential items, carefully put together. Items that are durable, easy to combine and provide solutions for all types of surfaces and weather conditions. This way it is possible to assemble a wardrobe fit for all seasons with a limited number of items. The successful introduction of jerseys made from recycled PET bottles will be further implemented onto other items in the near future.

Road to net zero emissions

BBB Cycling operates carbon neutral since 2018. But being carbon neutral by compensating isn’t enough, that’s why we strive to make our operations net zero in 2030. Besides that, we focus on reducing the carbon footprint throughout the total value chain as much as possible without compromising on quality, safety or accessibility. We can only make an impact or difference if our products and tech reach enough people.

In making the transition to a sustainable way of working, being transparent and open to feedback is key. If you have any questions or remarks or suggestions that could change the world for the better, please do not hesitate to contact us.
